Awakened Heart Necklace - Vintage Beadstrands

The Awakened Heart Series: a brand new theme to my work, which I've been wanting to dive into for a few years now. This work pays tribute to heart-led living in a head before heart era

This necklace features a vibrant blue turquoise heart from the Kingman mine in Arizona, set on reclaimed sterling silver with a hand-engraved starburst pattern symbolizing the light that bursts forth from the heart that is open. With the bail at due north, I flush set a soft pink sapphire at each of the remaining cardinal directions; reminding you to follow your heart as you navigate life. And of course, heavily oxidized, rugged, reclaimed silver settings, cause it takes grit to live with an open heart.

I paired the pendant with vintage glass beads I found in Kensington market during a spring trip to Toronto. there are three strands of beads all connected to the same handforged clasp. I've intentionally made each string of beads a slightly different length to create a beautiful mess for your neck ;) Oxidized satin finish. The bead strands measure approx 18.5 inches from end to end with a 2 inch extender. The pendant is approx 1.25 inches from the top of the bail to the bottom of the due south sapphire.

All handcrafted using traditional silversmithing techniques, with my own two hands and a lot of heart and soul. Each North Star Silver order comes lovingly packaged and ready for gift-giving.
