Aspen Twig Ring - Montana Sapphire

A beautiful ring to last forever, made from sustainably harvested aspen twigs, cast in recycled 14 karat gold, and set with a stunning, ethically mined Montana sapphire. One morning in the fall, I walked the shores of Kitchigami (aka Lake Superior) with my pup; eyes peeled for fine aspen twigs with slender, tight buds. This is my favourite of those twigs, alchemized into this ring. The ecology of aspen makes it particularly symbolic as a representation of the commitment between two people who love each other. Aspens are well known for their ability to survive major disturbances by forming massive networks underground; sharing resources & supporting themselves through their root systems. A beautiful example of the collectivism and unity that develops through the years in committed relationships. A network of clonal aspens in Colorado is considered one of the largest & oldest organisms on earth.
