Dichotomy Necklaces - Gemstone Strands

Dichotomy necklaces. Itty bitty, reversible pendants with a sun on one face and a moon on the other. Meant for the every day, and strung on natural rounded gemstone strands. Choose from rose quartz or peridot. Each necklaces measures approximately 16 inches. Closes with a spring ring. 

Oxidized satin finish. 

These are inspired by the concept and dynamism of polarity. The tension between opposites is what creates the energy field, the power. Within, without. Day, night. Light, shadow. In holding the tension and bearing witness to both sides, we allow the middle way to emerge, moving beyond duality; creating agency & freedom.

These necklaces also represent the marriage of old + new in my journey as a jewelry artist. Before I lit up a torch for the first time in 2018, I created jewelry using cold connections (beading, wire wrapping, etc), for the better part of 20 years, beginning in childhood. For this special piece, I created the pendant using my jeweler's saw and torch, in a culmination of the traditional metalsmithing techniques I’ve been obsessively working on for the last 5 years; and then I lovingly beaded the necklace. 

All handcrafted using traditional silversmithing techniques, with my own two hands and a lot of heart and soul. Each North Star Silver order comes lovingly packaged and ready for gift-giving. I use GOTS-certified organic cotton jewelry bags and/or 100% post consumer recycled kraft jewelry boxes with natural cotton filling.
