Sunrise to Sunset Necklace - Bruneau Jasper + Kingman Turquoise
This incredible, once in a lifetime stone is called Bruneau jasper. A small deposit of it was once mined near the banks of the Bruneau river in Idaho, but the mine is now depleted, making this material very rare. This stone is old stock - meaning it was mined decades ago. Bruneau jaspers of this quality, with it's spectacular orbicular patterns and earthy scenery are rare!
I had two Bruneau jaspers from a second generation lapidary artist out of Colorado, with this same funky geometrical shape. They stumped me for the last year or two, but I found myself reaching for them often, turning the stones over in my hands. I think I finally found the perfect setting in this necklace design, with a soaring hawk below, and a secret sun on the back with a Kingman turquoise centre. Two 14 karat gold embellishments bring out the warmth of the Bruneau jasper. Fully reversible for a sweet 2-in-1.
It hangs from a long, sterling silver rollo chain, dainty yet sturdy. The necklace can be worn at 2 lengths: 18 inches and 22 inches. Oxidized satin finish for an old world feel.
All handcrafted using traditional silversmithing techniques, with my own two hands and a lot of heart and soul. Each North Star Silver order comes lovingly packaged and ready for gift-giving. I use GOTS-certified organic cotton jewelry bags and/or 100% post consumer recycled kraft jewelry boxes with natural cotton filling. All orders come with a jewelry care card.
